Easy Raw Food Recipes: Tomato Curry

easy raw food recipes - tomato curry

These easy raw food recipes are for when you really want something savory or you just need to beat some cooked food cravings.

Adding the curry powder to the sauce gives it a spicy kick and is perfect for those who are missing spicy cooked foods.

It is insanely delicious and there are many variations that you can make to the basic recipe.

Ingredients: Sauce

4 x Tomatoes
1 x Red Bell Pepper
2 x Medium Stalks Celery
8 x Sundried Tomatoes
1 x Oz Cashew Nuts (optional)
8 x Dates (sweetened according to taste)
1 x Tsp Curry Powder

Method:

Blend all ingredients together in a high-speed blender until smooth and creamy.

Ingredients: Garnish

1 x Tomato
1 x pack button mushrooms
1 x pack baby corn
Fresh basil and coriander

Method:

Dice the mushrooms and baby corn and slice the tomato.

Chop the basil and coriander finely.

Toss the baby corn and button mushrooms and pour the tomato curry sauce over the top.

Garnish with the fresh herbs and sliced tomato.

Serves 1-2

Easy Raw Food Recipes - Variations:

This recipe can be modified in many interesting ways. If you want to get some greens in at this meal then adding romaine lettuce or baby spinach to the recipe works really well too. Taste test to see if you need to add more dates to ensure that it doesn't become bitter from the added greens.

Fruity Flavors

By adding subtle variations such as a slice or two of pineapple to the recipe, the outcome can also be drastically altered in exciting ways!

Thai Curry

You can also use coconut meat if you want to give it a Thai curry flavor.

Different nuts and seeds are optional to add a creaminess to the sauce, but are not essential and can be easily omitted if you prefer not to eat nuts or if you are just cutting back the calories or the fats a little.

Prefer to eat some cooked foods with your raw?

These soups/sauces can also add a very tasty and healthy addition to your favorite cooked foods if you are not striving for 100% raw, such as poured over a baked potato or over steamed vegetables.
