Fruit Dessert Recipes - Double Thick Coffee Shake

Fruit Dessert Recipes with coffee added may not be the most healthy option available, but hey, this was decaf! Maybe not sooo bad?
Well, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't actually be able to drink this now as the coffee (even decaf I'm afraid) would give me a headache, this recipe comes from a while back. But if you want a healthier alternative to a coffee milkshake then no doubt about it, this is it!
It's definitely better than ice cream! Decaf coffee still contains a small amount of caffeine so if you are sensitive to caffeine be sure not to have this late in the day.
Ingredients:
- 2x fresh ripe bananas
- 8x frozen bananas (peel, break into quarters and freeze)
- 6x fresh dates
- 1x tablespoon of decaffeinated coffee
- 2x tablespoons maple syrup (100% maple)
Method:
In a Vitamix or other powerful blender place the two ripe bananas, the dates and the coffee and blend until smooth.
Slowly add the frozen bananas and blend. If your blender has a stick attachment, use this to push the bananas down onto the blades until super thick.
Pour the tablespoons of maple syrup over the top of the shake so that it swirls down on either side of the glass.
Serves 2

Viola! You have a coffee shake that is delectable and much healthier than any ice cream coffee you could buy.
