Fruit Nutrition Facts: Is fruit highly nutritious? Well of course, but the proof is always in the pudding (fruit pudding that is).
So if you're wondering why all these beautiful faces are displayed, well the answer is that each one of these lovely faces (including myself and my husband Jaye) is the subject of a video in the inspirational 'Living On Fruit' video series that begins further down the page.
But first let's get down to some fruit nutrition facts and while we're at it, we'll throw in some vegetable nutrition facts too!
Have you ever heard someone say 'there's no protein in fruits and vegetables'? I sure have, and these have been educated people, nutritionists included! You just have to wonder, what do nutritionists learn at university?
The fact is fruits - on average - have around 90% carbohydrate, 5% protein and 5% fat. Vegetables average 70% carbohydrate, 20% protein and 10% fat.
Did you know that calorie for calorie romaine lettuce contains more than double the protein in steak? Spinach is 49% protein folks!
Mother's milk contains 6% protein (and apparently tastes sweet, similar to canteloupe juice - see, we start off with a craving for something sweet!), and babies need more protein than ANYONE! They're growing at a tremendous rate, and mother's milk is more than ample for their needs.
Yet adults, who are already fully grown, somehow think they need so much more protein than babies?
Bizzarre!
So fruits provide the perfect ratio of proteins for our needs. Add in some leafy green vegetables and you have more than you even need. Plenty to cover even the most ambitious body builder.
Fruit Nutrition Facts - The Importance of Getting Enough
The most important fact in getting enough nutrition is to eat enough! End of story! Of course if you are systematically undereating, it doesn't matter that you are eating the most nutritious foods in the world, you will be getting too little nutrition, simply because you are getting too little, period.
Most people have no idea about how to make fruit into a meal. I have people asking me 'is that ALL you're having for lunch?' when they see me packing away a dateorade (blended dates and coconut water or plain water) that is a good 1000 calories. Or asking me 'are you going to eat ALL OF THAT?' when I start making my 10 banana smoothie - also 1000 calories. So you see, people really have no idea when it comes to fruit nutrition facts.
So when you're getting going on a truly healthy lifestyle, you have to get educated about your fruit nutrition facts. Make sure you're getting enough for your caloric needs and then you'll be smiling.
Fruit Nutrition Facts - Can Fruit Make You Fat?
Gosh NO!
Of course if you're going to sit on the couch stuffing your face and flooding your brain with negativity, thinking 'this is going to make me so fat, all these carbs, OMG', and running off to the scale to weigh yourself every five minutes and focused on everything you DON'T want to happen, instead of doing some healthy exercise and enjoying your food, well let's just say that anything you eat under those conditions could cause you some indigestion! The mind/body connection is super powerful!
But this isn't a page to showcase those determined to fail, this is all about success.
This inspirational video series entitled 'Living On Fruit' is all about beautiful, successful people, thriving on a high fruit (YES, that means high carb folks, and it's FABULOUS!), low fat, raw vegan lifestyle, with beautiful bodies and beautiful spirits shining brightly through the screen.
