Fruit salad recipes are a wonderful way to enjoy endless combinations of fruits. It doesn't ever need to become boring.
For best results fruit should be just ripe but still very nice and firm. The bruised and too soft parts of fruits should preferably be cut away.
Once made, a fruit salad should be consumed instantly, as fruit oxidizes as soon as it is cut open and will start to look a little off putting if left for too long.
Nuts are not necessary at all, but can be sprinkled lightly on top, on the odd occasion. Just be aware that every nut packs a fat punch, so go very lightly.
I find it best to only combine a few different fruits, so that each flavor can stand out!
If you combine too many different fruits, you are more likely to lose the individual flavors and it will all just blend into one taste and won't be as delectable!
Chopping up some fruits into a fruit salad makes a wonderful raw food breakfast!
Fruit is so light on your digestion that it is always the perfect fuel to start your day. And if you eat enough of it, it is easily able to sustain you until lunchtime!

For example, melons should always be eaten alone and do not mix well with other fruits. This is because melons digest super fast!
Sweet fruits mix well with other sweet fruits and sub acid fruits, and acid fruits mix well with sub acid fruits but not sweet fruits.
