Raw Food Diet - 30 Day 'No Fat' Trial - Day 14

Day 14 of my raw food diet 'no fat' trial and.....Yay! My weight was down this morning. It is now 123 pounds, bringing my total weight loss for this raw food diet trial to 2 pounds.

I woke up very tired this morning. But it's funny, even when I am tired, I still have no difficulty leaping out of bed and there is no mental fog at all. I am instantly awake and alert, I just have scratchy eyes and wish I could go back to bed for a while. It is very different to in the past when eating badly; I would sometimes be unable to get out of bed, literally!

Food

I took a liter of green smoothie and a whole watermelon with me to work. The smoothie contained 3x cucumbers (333g), a head of romaine (277g), 4x bananas (389g), fresh blueberries (125g) and a medium apple. The watermelon was 2321g.

I was actually damn hungry all day. It wasn't enough this time. I had the smoothie for breakfast and the watermelon for lunch, and all I could think was tofu and noodles! Tofu and noodles! So it just wasn't enough today for some reason and since I was so hungry, the cravings are not really a surprise.

For dinner I had a banana strawberry smoothie. 4x bananas (444g) and a pack of strawberries (244g).

Shampoo or No poo?

I was reading today about low fat raw vegans no longer needing to use shampoo, soap, toothpaste, moisturizer etc. Since you are so clean inside there is no body odor and you can just get clean with water only.

I am going to stick with the soap and moisturizer for a while, but I am thinking of dumping the shampoo for a while just to see what happens. Shampoos are extremely drying on the hair and my hair is a little overstressed at the moment. Apparently, all you do is rinse your hair with water, and then if it does get a little greasy, just squeeze a lemon into your hair, rub it in and rinse it out. There’s all these raw vegans with amazing shiny hair running around that never use a thing on it besides water. So, I washed my hair this morning, and I’m just going to leave it and see how I go. I usually wash it every couple of days. My hair gets very knotted and tangled so I’ll use a little conditioner from time to time to detangle, but I’m going no poo and I’ll keep you posted.

Conclusions

I'm happy the weight came down again, long may it continue to fluctuate in a downwards direction!

My totals for the day were as follows: Calories 1702, Fat 8.6g, Carbohydrates 426.3g, Dietary Fiber 47.9, Protein 30.8 and Sodium 68.2mg.

My percentage totals were: Carbohydrates 90%, Protein 6%, Fat 4%.
