Raw Food Diet - 30 Day 'No Fat' Trial - Day 20

Today was day 20 of my raw food diet 'no fat' trial.

Weight

I weighed in at 123 pounds this morning so that is a total weight loss of 2 pounds for this raw food diet trial.

PMS

I slept really badly last night, and was up and down every hour. This morning my stomach was quite swollen and I suffered hectic pains for ten minutes and then they disappeared never to return. It was the full on endometriosis cramps where it feels like my stomach is being ripped apart inside. Very severe, but it literally only lasted from 8:30am to 8:40am.

Hair

We went to the beach and had a great swim again today but my hair just felt awful. It needed a lot more than some salt water on it.

I bought some lemons and when we got home I got into the bath with 2 of the lemons cut into halves. After wetting my hair I squeezed the lemon halves directly onto my head and massaged the juice into my scalp and rubbed the lemon pulp into my hair. After massaging both lemons into my hair I left it for about 30 seconds and then rinsed very well.

At first I thought it was great. It felt clean and fresh. I combed it through with a wide tooth comb and left it. When it was dry I took another look and now I'm not convinced.

I think the roots still look too flat, as if they are a bit greasy. It doesn't feel greasy, but to me it LOOKS greasy. Jaye disagrees and says it looks shiny and great. I don't know.

I do think it's likely that I need a paradigm shift. Of course it's not going to feel the same as it does when it has just been washed with salon products. This is natural hair, and I've never felt natural hair before!

Raw Food Diet Trial: Food

For breakfast I had a fruit salad with half a papaya, 4x bananas and 1x mango. That was so filling that I didn't need to eat again until late afternoon when I had 5x dates and half a watermelon (1039g). I forgot to take a picture of the watermelon and dates so I'll leave that to your imagination.

We had my sister and her partner over for dinner and made some cool food. We had a soup starter made with tomato, mango, coriander and celery. My portion had 2x tomatoes, 1.5x mangos, 1x stalk celery and a handful of coriander

Our main course was zucchini noodles with chunks of orange, and a cabbage, orange, red pepper and basil sauce

For dessert we had a mango and peach pie. The base was made with dates, pomegranates, orange juice and orange rind all blended together in the food processor to form a thick caramel base. The topping was made by blending mango and peach. It was DIVINE.

Raw Food Diet Trial: Conclusions

My totals for today may not be super accurate as I had to guess some of the measures for my serving of mango peach pie etc, but I think I am pretty good at getting very good estimates.

Totals for the raw food diet trial today were as follows: Calories 1927, Fat 7.8g, Carbohydrates 491.4g, Dietary Fiber 62.5g, Protein 30.1g, Sodium 110.7mg.

Percentage Totals for the raw food diet trial today were as follows: Carbohydrates 92%, Protein 5%, Fat 3%.
