Fruit and Vegetable Diet - 30 Day 'No Fat' Trial - Day 6

Today was the sixth day of my fruit and vegetable diet ‘no fat’ trial.

Weight

I weighed in this morning at 124 pounds so that’s up 1.3 pounds from yesterday and brings my total weight loss for this fruit and vegetable diet trial to 1 pound.

I was a little constipated today again, it may just be the remnants of the cocaine (oh I mean cocoa), it really did act like a class A drug on my system so who knows what havoc it caused.

Exercise

I exercised very hard again today, we were back in the gym this morning when they opened at 7. I did an hour long cardio workout: bicycle, elliptical and treadmill, and pull ups, dips, chest press, seated rows, close grip lat pulldowns, wide grip lat pulldowns and bicep curls.

I was quite finished after that so I only managed a few handstands and about 3 cartwheels. My arms and shoulders were so tired that I was afraid they would collapse and I would break my neck.

Detox

I didn’t feel so grand today. I felt very tired. My shoulder is also really hurting. I have had a shoulder problem for nearly three years now, and chiropractors can only say it may be some childhood injury that has flared up. I have never found anything that they have done to be helpful. I am sure it is much like any inflammation in the body and is a result of a build up of toxins. As the natural hygienists say, there is only one disease and that is toxemia. Everything else is just a result of that. My shoulder usually flares up for at least 5 days a month, and that coupled with my endometriosis has kept me reaching for the pain pills month after month. I haven’t taken anything for pain this time and I am not going to. The pain is there but definitely milder than before.

I think I am in a strong detox cycle and my hard exercise probably also means that my body needs to rest more than I am allowing it to at the moment. It is a public holiday tomorrow and I am thinking a long sleep in might be a good idea. Allow my body to do its good work.

This Little Piggy Went to Market

We found a great fruit and vegetable market and got an enormous amount of produce. We had to put the seats down in the back of Jaye’s car and pack it all in. It took three trips for us to get it all from the car up to the apartment.

Since we are currently living in a studio we were joking that we need a fruit room.

It was very cool though as we can save on all the packaging that goes into the produce in the supermarkets. We got all our lettuces and spinach just as is, all still covered in dirt from the ground. It was also much cheaper than what we have been paying. Here's a pic of our fridge as it looks right now and some of the fruit we got.

Today's Food

For breakfast I had a green smoothie which contained half a large papaya (440g), a small head of romaine lettuce (300g), and 3x bananas (350g).

Green Smoothies

For lunch I had my standard banana, blueberry and date smoothie containing 4x bananas (427g), 100g blueberries and 6x dates. I forgot to take a picture, but I had the same thing yesterday. For dinner I had half a watermelon (1114g).

An hour after dinner, I felt peckish and had two oranges. I am sure you can imagine what two oranges look like, so I won't post a picture. I also snacked on two fresh dates today.

I didn't feel particularly hungry today. I could have eaten even less than I did. I enjoyed everything I ate and didn't have any cravings.

So that brings my daily totals to the following: Calories 1613, Fat 7g, Carbs 408.3g, Protein 25.7g and sodium 61.6mg.

Percentages are as follows: 90% Carbohydrates, 6% Protein and 4% Fat.
