Raw Food Diet - 30 Day 'No Fat' Trial - Day 8

My raw food diet no fat trial is now on day 8.

I had a slight headache when I woke up this morning but it disappeared during the morning. I have been very mentally clear today and had very even energy levels, but I haven't been craving physical activity.

Shoulder Pain

My shoulder has become steadily more painful and inflamed.

Weight

I weighed in at 122.7 pounds today, which is the same as yesterday. My total weight loss for this raw food diet trial so far is therefore 2.3 pounds.

Food

I'm back at work today so I took a cooler bag with a liter and a half of green smoothie containing 500g Romaine Lettuce, 1x large mango (430g), 4x bananas (420g) and blueberries (90g).

Green Smoothie

I had a liter of smoothie for breakfast and the other half a liter at noon. For a snack at 2:00pm I had 6x dates and 8x tangerines (421g). naartjies

For dinner I had a strawberry, banana and date smoothie. It was amazing. These strawberries we got at the market are so delicious! They are bright red and so sweet and juicy!

Exercise

I didn't exercise today. My shoulder hurt too much and I felt a little debilitated by the pain. I didn't take enough food along today either. I was a bit hungry. So when I got home I had to eat first before doing anything else, and then exercise just fell by the wayside. So that's two days off exercise! They say never allow two days in a row!

I think I need to get used to eating a little more on this version of the raw food diet than I otherwise would. I find it quite shocking sometimes that I am consuming 2000 calories a day on some days. I spent so many years as a low calorie dieter (1200 calories or less per day) that 2000 calories just seems enormous! But I am not trying to be the average skinny-fat sedentary person. I want to be a highly athletic lean machine!

People who have been on a low fat raw food diet for a longer period of time, eat vast amounts of calories and are all super lean and fit and do huge amounts of exercise, just because they want to. The high carbohydrate content of this diet gives them so much energy for exercise. I have found that on the days when I've had closer to 2000 calories I have more energy than on days when its closer to 1600.

It is a little difficult to accurately gauge how much food to take to work though. I'm still getting the hang of it. I think now I'll aim for more like 2000 calories a day and see how I go with that.

Is that Ripe?

I've just discovered that what I would consider a ripe banana is not quite there yet. I usually eat bananas that are still a little green at the top. This isn't ripe, and in fact isn't good for you. Fruits must be eaten ripe and raw for optimal digestion and nutrition. A really ripe banana has no green on it and is liberally speckled with brown spots - basically around the time most of us would think its overripe and throw it out is when it's at its best! Conclusions

My totals for today were as follows: Calories 1669, Fat 7.6g, Carbs 424g, Dietary Fiber 58.2g, Protein 24.4g and Sodium 75.7mg.

Percentage Totals: Carbohydrates 91%, Protein 5% and Fat 4%
