A successful raw food diet plan needs to take into account that raw foods are much lower in calories than cooked foods and also much higher in volume.
Therefore proper planning is key! You need to start BULK buying your fruits and veggies and do almost ALL your shopping in the produce section of the supermarket, or at your local farmers market.
Raw Food Diet Plan - Breakfast Ideas
So FORGET having ONE banana and calling it breakfast. You have to EAT properly if you want to fuel yourself for the day ahead. One banana is only 100 calories. Do the math, you need more!
A raw food breakfast is best made up of FRUIT. You can also add in some greens.
A raw food green smoothie is made by blending your favorite fruits with some green leaves. This is also known as a green pudding!
Blending some ripe and juicy mangoes with some baby spinach is absolutely DELICIOUS!
You can also make banana pudding for breakfast. Blend bananas dates and celery in your blender until very smooth. Pour this blend over chopped banana and dates.
This makes a delicious chunky 'cereal'.
Fresh squeezed orange juice, if you drink enough of it, also provides plenty of sustenance for the day ahead. A two liter jug of orange juice is packed full of nutrition and packs 1000 calories! Not too shabby!
Even Ice Cream Is On The Breakfast Raw Food Diet Plan!
Who says its hard to get kids to eat healthy? Which kid do you know who would say no to ice cream for breakfast?
Well when it's raw vegan ice cream, this is a fabulously healthy raw food breakfast meal. Just blend frozen bananas with any other kind of fruit. In the picture below we have frozen bananas blended with dates and coconut water. YUMMY!
Raw Food Diet Plans - Lunch Ideas
For lunch you could either repeat breakfast, and have another green smoothie, fruit ice cream or fruit pudding or mixed fruit smoothie.
You can always add as much lettuce, spinach or celery as you desire to any fruit meal.
You could also just choose any delicious ripe fruits you have available and just eat it mono style until you're full!
The BEST raw food diet plan for lunches is AGAIN nature's perfect food - FRUIT!
Raw Food Diet Plan - Dinner Delights
A raw food menu for dinner can be anything from one to three courses.
We'll sometimes have a raw soup followed by tacos/wraps.
OR a salad followed by some raw vegan sushi rolls.
OR we may just have some more fruit. Or if really hungry, some more fruit, followed by a salad, followed by some tacos/sushi/wraps.

Raw Food Meals - A Typical Day
A very typical day of raw food meals for me, would be watermelon or fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast. 500 calories
Lunch would be a banana smoothie blended with dates and coconut water. 1000 calories
Some mono fruit followed by a
Blended Salad or Soup
for dinner, or some fruit and lettuce wraps, or salad and guacamole tacos followed by a soup. 500-1000 calories depending.
When we eat overt fats such as avocado or nuts/seeds, then we will usually eat that at night.
Jaye eats the same, just more than me. He might have 15 oranges for breakfast, 20 bananas for lunch and a few more oranges or mangoes prior to a raw soup, tacos or wraps at dinner.
Jaye averages 3000 to 3500 calories a day, whereas I average between 2000-2500.

Raw Food Diet Plan - Shopping List
The bulk of your raw food menu is going to be fruit. So stock up well, preferably at a farmers market.
For your dinner salads, soups and wraps buy lots of salad vegetables, such as lettuce, baby spinach, celery, tomatoes, cucumbers, red and yellow bell peppers, sundried tomatoes, avocados and some nuts and seeds.

These vegetables combined with fruits can make infinite combination's of fabulous raw food meals.
Here is a short video tour of our fruit for a week. When you eat this way shopping becomes enormously simplified. We just hit up the market and get a few boxes of whatever fruits and vegetables we fancy.
