This is the story of Freelea’s journey to raw food health.
Freelea went from depression, digestive disorders, systemic candida, acne and weight problems to thriving athlete and picture of raw food health when she embraced a living raw food diet a couple of years ago.
Growing up on a farm Freelea and her two brothers had plenty of fresh air, exercise and lots of fruits and vegetables.
Her health went into decline when she moved into the city. Suffering with low self esteem she tried various diets and weight loss drugs which resulted in sickness and weight GAIN.
With a deep passion for knowledge and a wish to fully understand the connection between health and exercise, she became a personal trainer.
Through her work with various clients she realized that exercise was just one aspect of health. Nutrition and mental health were also crucial factors when it came to getting results.
When Freelea first discovered raw foods, she hoped that it would solve all her problems.
She hoped that becoming raw would cure her systemic candida that was so severe that she could not focus on anything for more than a couple of minutes before getting blurred vision.
However, she was initially seduced by the gourmet version of a raw foods diet. Making fancy recipes that mimicked their cooked food counterparts, like raw samosas and pizzas.
She got into raw chocolate and fat laden puddings. This unfortunately did not lead to health gain and did not alleviate any of the symptoms she had gone to a raw foods diet to cure.
The picture below is Freelea before she began to follow an ideal low fat raw vegan diet.
Banana Island
She began consulting with Dr Douglas Graham, who immediately put her on mono island, which means eating only one kind of fruit for a certain period of time.
She spent 10 days eating ONLY bananas and then moved on to follow his 80/10/10 low fat raw food diet.

In the 10 days on banana island her candida balanced itself and she began to feel the best she had ever felt.
Not All Raw Food Diets Are The Same!
Freelea realized that there were many different ways to eat a vegan raw food diet.
Just as there are many different varieties of a cooked food diet, whether vegan or not. Just to say someone is vegan doesn’t tell you whether they are living on french fries and coca cola, or processed soy products and cheeseless pizza, or a more healthy low fat vegan diet.
When Freelea embraced a low fat whole foods raw vegan diet and began eating only whole unprocessed fruits and vegetables and keeping all fats, such as nuts, seeds and avocados to a minimal level, she truly discovered raw food health and thrived like never before.
This was over two years ago.
And Freelea has never looked back.
She rode nearly 3000 miles on her bicycle on a cross country solo bike ride, you can read the blog about her adventures on the road
here.
She is living her dreams, inspiring others across the globe towards ultimate raw food health, living a free and joyful existence, happier than she ever imagined anyone could be.
Her athletic performance is now off the charts, she runs faster, cycles longer, lifts heavier! Every aspect of the multiple sports she excels in: yoga, kickboxing, weight lifting, gymnastics, cycling, running, has shot through the roof and gone beyond her wildest expectations.
She has done a lot of further studying on nutrition and health, she runs the very successful low fat raw vegan forum
30 Bananas A Day.
She also offers a mentoring program from her personal
website.
She is the best coach and mentor and I should know, since she coached me.
She helped me clarify so many issues and I am very grateful to Freelea for her guidance and support.
