Raw Food Success Story

Jason's raw food success story is one of fantastic success on the raw foods diet. At 21 years old, he has taken charge of his health in an amazing way. This is his raw food success story in his own words.
I've been through some tough times in my life. I started smoking pot when I was just 10 years old, and had already been smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol before then.

My eating habits were just as bad. I ate the standard American diet (SAD) for the first 19 years of my life.

All in all, I was on a mission to destroy my health and my body from the beginning.

After years of abusing myself with the use of psychedelics, alcohol, cocaine, pot, fried foods, soda, candy, I finally had enough.

I decided to cut back on the drugs and become a vegetarian. At this point, I was 6'1" and 208lbs. My face was bloated, and constantly in a state of acne.

I was always embarrassed about the shape I was in.

Raw Foods Diet - Before Picture

After 6 months of vegetarianism I decided to go vegan, and a month after that I quit my last vices; alcohol and cooked food.

At this point I had dropped around 50lbs of body weight, simply because I did not know how to eat as a vegetarian or vegan.

After being raw for 1 month I lost another 20lbs and was down to 134 lbs.

I was sickly skinny.

Throughout that first month of raw, I knew nothing about it.

I assumed that as long as it wasn't cooked, it was edible.

I ate mostly greens, with nuts and oil.

Every once in a while I was able to make a gourmet meal (rawviolli's, stuffed peppers etc), but that wasn't often since I was working 60 hours a week at a manual labor job.

After doing the math, I realized I was burning around 3700 calories - and consuming 1700 at the most!

The vegan raw foods diet was turning out to be totally unsustainable for me!

That is, until I was introduced to Dr Doug Graham's 80/10/10 book.

After reading 80/10/10 and becoming very educated on my own health, I started consuming more fruit.

Lots more fruit.

For example, I will have 6 mangoes for breakfast, 12 bananas for lunch, and 10 peaches followed by cucumber and tomato salad for dinner.

I love life!

Raw Foods Diet

Today, I weigh 155lbs and have never felt better in my life, physically and spiritually.

I can bike over 50 miles, I do body weight exercises on a daily basis and I am getting into the kind of shape that I want to be in.

No longer do drugs and food control my life.

All of this has been achieved in just one year of the raw foods diet. I feel a total reversal in the way my health was heading!

If there is one thing I would want to say to a new raw foody, it is: "Educate yourself. No matter which way you eat, it is possible for it to be worse than before you started. Just because it is raw, does not mean it is healthy!"
