Raw Foods Recipes - Raw Chocolate Torte

Raw Foods Recipes like this will impress anyone. It tastes just as rich and decadent as the most decadent dessert I ever had in my pre-raw days. For this reason, go easy and don't eat too much of it. Make it when you have people coming over and feed them the bulk of it, haha! Actually I don't think you could eat too much of it as it is so rich, and extremely satiating. I had one piece and that was me, done for. Which is MOST unlike me. But I reckon that was definitely a good thing. It's high fat for sure, and definitely classified as celebration food (i.e. only for the odd occasion). Ingredients - Base 2 cups macadamia nuts 1 cup dates 1 tablespoon raw carob powder Method Throw all the base ingredients into a food processor and process until a thick chocolate paste is formed. Pat down into a pie dish and refrigerate.

Ingredients - Filling2 cups soaked cashews Meat of One Coconut 1 cup date honey (date honey is made by blending soaked dates with a little water) Juice of one orange A few drops of vanilla extract 3 tablespoons carob
Method Blend all the ingredients in a blender until thick and creamy.

Pour the filling out on top of the base and smooth it out. Place back in the refrigerator and allow to set.

Then cut into squares and serve.

I realize this does look a little more like chocolate brownies than a chocolate torte, this is a result of me not having another pie dish available. If you put this into a round pie dish and sliced diagonally you would have less of a brownie look and more of a chocolate torte look. Anyway, whatever it looks like, brownies or a torte, it tastes magnificent! Enjoy!
