Water Fasting Diaries

These are my water fasting diaries from 2006 and 2008 when I completed two ten day water fasts.

The photo below was taken shortly after completing the second fast in 2008.

As you can see, I am looking pretty healthy here, enjoying my fresh juice! However, the fasting experience isn't one that I'm keen to repeat.

A mistake that I made in these fasts that I wasn't aware of at the time, was I didn't drink enough water. It is very likely that the symptoms of nausea and acid reflux that I experienced may have come partly from dehydration, rather than detoxification like I thought at the time.

This is why water fasting for longer than 3 days on your own can be dangerous and it is very strongly recommended that if you do choose to fast for longer than this that you book into a reputable water fasting clinic where you can be properly supervised.

These days I'm not a big fan of fasting - as when it comes down to it - I want to remain at a healthy weight and enable my body to burn fat efficiently - and most importantly I want to keep a healthy relationship with food and this can be very hard for people who fast!

98% of all diets fail - these are not good odds.

So here are my water fasting diaries from my fasts, starting with the fast in 2008. During this fast I was busy working as a teacher and this is another no no. Whilst water fasting it is very important to rest as much as possible!

I have put some commentary on the fast in italics here and there.

Water Fasting Diaries 2008

Water Fasting 2008 - Day One

Hey, this is my first day of what I hope to be 14 days of water fasting. So far it is going well. I woke up late as I only had to be at work at 1:30. I only started to feel hungry at about 4pm.

The hunger demands are getting a bit more insistent now (evening), but this is not the problem day for me, day 2 usually is.

I am playing a gig tonight and though this is only the first day I am feeling a little weak and dizzy already. That's obviously just detox. I think I'll have to make it a bit of a chilled set tonight, sitting on a stool would probably be the best idea. But overall I feel very chuffed that I have started this and I'm determined to do it.

Just got to get over the initial three days and then I think I'll be away!

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Two

Well I have reached day 2 and in about 3 hours I'll be crossing the 48 hour mark, and after sailing through day one, this isn't quite as easy.

I don't feel bad, its just that feeling of emptiness inside and I'm a little less energetic, and a bit irritable, but that's all really. Food also looks very good.

My husband is having a banana and nut smoothie and the smell of it is absolutely delicious. However, my determination is so much stronger than the urge to eat so it's no issue really, but bring on those ketones!

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Three

I had a dreadful night last night, was tossing and turning and horribly nauseas yet dreaming I was breaking my fast in a number of highly unsuitable ways, like with potatoes and then wine!

I woke up around 5am with a rapid pulse and a rolling lurching stomach. Half an hour later I was vomiting violently and after that felt fine again.

Went back to sleep till 10:30am and then had a horribly sore throat, had some water and slept for an hour again and woke up with the sore throat gone.

It is now nearly 1pm which is when I have to be leaving for school. I was seriously considering taking today off, but I would really rather save my sick days for later in the fast, if at all.

Today is only a four hour work day, surely I can do it!

.......

Hey, I'm back. I got through the day okay, was just a bit slow, no one noticed though. Now I am just battling dizziness and some serious pain in my legs, it feels like the pain is deep in my bones, strange. Thankfully the nausea has not re-occurred.

I have lost 1.5 kilos (3.3 pounds) so far, and I'm happy with the weight loss. I'm hoping this fast will clear up my endometriosis pain too! My endometriosis only cleared up in 2009, once I began to very consistently eat well (high fruit, low fat raw food), and cut out all the contributing factors such as medications etc from my life.

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Four

I am not a happy chappie today. These detox symptoms are really unpleasant.

Last night I had awful pain in my legs, it felt deep into the bone.

Then I went to bed around midnight and woke up at 2am with nausea and that awful burning acid indigestion thing traveling up my throat every time I lay down, making me feel I would vomit, yet I didn't.

I also had a raging sore throat. That went on until 6:30am when I fell asleep again and slept soundly until 11:30.

I'm off to work again now, but am feeling increasingly weak. I'm supposed to work a full day tomorrow, but think that is out of the question, so I'll take the morning off. I have been managing my work days, just, by focusing on each class as it comes and being patient with myself, walking very slowly and keeping the classes low key.

I am now one of the teachers who delegate everything physical to the students and slump in my chair. Nevertheless when I get home I am so exhausted I can barely speak to my husband.

At least it is weekend soon! I might take a day or two off sick next week. I just wanted to save my sick days for the second week in case I need them more then.

On the plus side I lost another 1.2 kilos (2.6 pounds) between yesterday and today, which makes it a 2.7 kilo (5.9 pounds) weight loss in just four days. Pretty cool!

My tongue is only very slightly coated and my breath isn't bad at all, which worries me. I was wondering if I could be one of those one in a million or so who never goes into ketosis at all.

Yet I have done a 10 day water fast before and certainly didn't die so it must be as safe for me as anyone else. It is just when you lie in bed at night unable to sleep with these horrible symptoms that you start to get a bit worried. (which is precisely why you should be supervised for longer fasts, so that you can put all that worry aside!)

.......

Okay, I feel a little better, just got home from work, barely made it through the day with weakness, but no one noticed a thing. Maybe they just think I've been hit with an attack of laziness.

I wanted to get some of those ketosis sticks, but I don't fancy my chances of being understood. I am in Taiwan and can't speak Chinese, while the average pharmacist might understand 'painkiller' or other basic English, ketosis sticks would be a stretch!

The whole day I have been burping like crazy with the bile rising. I just hope this time it doesn't go on the whole length of the fast like on my last fast.

I have been fine on my motorbike riding to school each day, but I am ready to catch a taxi if I feel too dizzy or something, but so far fine. It is winter here and the freezing air revives me.

On the plus side I am seeing people eating all day long at school, yet it feels as if the food has nothing to do with me at all.

So instead of looking at it longingly I am just disinterested, which doesn't mean that I am not longing for all the delicious meals I am going to eat once this is over!

I was thinking 14 days before but now I think if I make it to 10 I'll be very pleased.

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Five

Yay, I am feeling much better today.

Had some problems during the night but this morning I am feeling much better. Still a bit weak but I took the morning off school so am on my way there now and it is only a four hour day again so certainly doable.

I have lost a total of 3.5 kilos (7.7 pounds) so far, which I think is wonderful in only five days.

From yesterday to today I lost 0.8kg (2 pounds). Great! Long may it continue.

I am back in a pair of jeans I haven't worn in some time.

My skin is looking great and my eyes sparkly, which is a bit of a problem since I said I was sick this morning, now when I go in this afternoon I'm going to look like the picture of health!

I am finding working to be good for me though, it makes the days go quicker, and having to focus on just getting through the day at work takes my mind off the fast, which is a good thing.

Well I'm either half way or a third of the way, I might break this after 10 days, or maybe I'll keep going to 14. It depends on how I'm coping with it.

.......

Ergh, I spoke too soon! I've been burping my way through the afternoon and weak as a new born kitten. Have a 2 hour thing tomorrow morning which is very important to the school so I have to be at full energy and performance, though it is only for two hours.

I am working the whole of next week too, so I don't know if I'll be able to do this beyond ten days.

I find having hot water helpful. I've been doing that in the evenings, it also makes a change, feels almost like you're having a cup of tea!

Water Fasting Day Six

Hey! I'm still hanging in here, had a rough night (again). Couldn't get to sleep till 2:30am by which time I propped myself up on a large amount of pillows and lay on my back, then I slept, should have done that from the beginning....

Had to get up early as I've got a school thing on but then it's pure relaxation for the rest of the weekend. I have decided that 10 days is plenty long enough and it makes me feel better to have the end in sight.

I lost another 0.7 kilos from yesterday to today, which brings the total weight loss to 4.2kg (9.2 pounds). Yippee!

I am thinking if I still feel bad then I will call in sick for the beginning of next week, it is just too bad if they think I am faking (I am one of those people who hates calling in sick more than anything). But this fast is very important to me and I plan to finish.

I was thinking that I did my last 10 day fast 13 months ago, and I think I'll wait at least another year before doing another. I may do short 48 hour fasts from time to time, if I feel a cold coming on or something but not more than that.

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Seven

So I am on day seven, in five hours I will be entering into day eight. I am very low in energy and had another bad night, not able to get to sleep because of terrible nausea and acid reflux.

Gave it up as a bad idea, turned the light on and re-read one of my fasting books. I have been planning menus for dinner parties, dreaming that I ate chocolate (which I don't eat anyway) and generally focusing on food a great deal, though I am not actually hungry.

Though I am very weak I think I should go to work tomorrow, it will at least make my last few days of fasting go quicker.

Clearly work is going on in my body, what work I have no idea but the nausea and acid reflux must be a sign of work being done. I am wondering if I should wait till that is finished to break the fast or not.

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Eight

Hey, I'm just barely holding on here. Took the day off school which in retrospect may have been a terrible idea. I was extremely bored and restless.

I just can't seem to enjoy doing anything but I don't feel sleepy either, so I go from watching a bit of TV to reading a bit and nothing captures my attention and the minutes tick by.

I will definitely go to work tomorrow, but I will see how I feel I might just break the fast then too. Either break it tomorrow on day 9 or Wednesday day 10.

I am really counting the hours. I have lost 5 kilos exactly now (11 pounds), the weight loss has slowed dramatically in the last couple of days. I feel so tired of this that I don't even care!

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Nine

I am still holding on, on day nine now and breaking tomorrow, I really can't wait!

Water Fasting 2008 - Day Ten

I am here! I have made it! It is over! I just had a half an orange and the taste was amazing.

My total weight loss is 5.7 kilograms (12.5 pounds). I am putting the scale away for a while as I don't want to obsess over it and some regaining of weight (as the body replenishes its electrolyte stores) is inevitable.

This shouldn't be more than a few pounds though. So I'll stay away from it for a few weeks and then see how it has all balanced out.

Going to do half an orange every two hours today. Tomorrow, every three hours a slightly bigger piece of juicy fruit. Third day, four meals, raw fruit and a little lettuce only.

Fourth day can add in cucumber, tomato, other salad vegetables to my salad, some cooked greens like broccoli and asparagus, maybe a little cooked starch, like brown rice or starchy vegetable, but still mainly raw fruit and vegetables. And that's it.

I always eat very carefully, since I am a high raw vegan, but now I will just watch my calorie consumption for the next four to six weeks before my metabolism normalizes, otherwise I will pile on the weight.

So will keep an eye on the calories to maintain my weight.

Yay!

Here's a pic of me on day 10 before breaking the fast. Looking a bit grumpy but hey, it's understandable!

Water Fasting Diaries 2006

Water Fasting 2006 - Day One

Weight: 61kg

2:00 pm. Hey well I woke up at 9:30 this morning, and compared to the usual 7:30 this was quite a sleep in. I'm getting the first little glimmers of hunger sprouting their little heads right about now.

On the whole I am feeling very confident, very assured, I am well prepared for this water fast, mentally and physically, have done lots of research for the mental part, know exactly what to expect from water fasting, and for the physical part I have done two weeks of raw food only (almost).

Well it was thirteen days out of fourteen to be exact, bang in the middle of the two week period I ate some cooked food, but nothing unhealthy so it can't be that bad I say.

It's not so much that I'm hungry, as that I'm feeling at a bit of a loose end and starting to wander over to the fridge.

I usually spend at least part of the day peering into the fridge and deciding what to eat, preparing it and then eating it, so without that to do I am at a bit of a loss. So it's more that than actual hunger.

It is certainly not even approaching unpleasant at this point, but we'll see, I'll let you know more later……

4:41pm Shoo, just been sleeping. Went to lie down and read and after two pages just went to sleep and woke up now. Definitely could eat something now, still getting those forces of habit wanting to lead me over to the fridge.

10:20pm Just got home from the movies, went to watch Confetti, very very good. Very very hungry too. Went to movies with Jaye and Mel and Chris and the three of them were chomping away on popcorn next to me.

I was very hungry but not tempted to break my fast, I know I will eat again, and plenty, this is not a deprivation, this is doing myself a favor, a very big favor actually.

Someone said "shame" when they heard I was water fasting, and I thought to myself, why would you say shame? This is a choice, not a requirement. It is something I want to do and have chosen to do for my own benefit, therefore to think of it in terms of deprivation is self defeating.

I am looking forward to the end of the hunger though, I really am. Other than the hunger, I have slight feelings of weakness, nothing serious, just when I stand up too quickly I feel faintly off balance and I am aware of not feeling my usual levels of energy. I'm going to read in bed now until I fall asleep, will write more tomorrow.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Two

Weight: 60kg

9:00am Well, I had a pretty bad night, I woke Jaye up about an hour after we went to sleep as I was running screaming to the light switch in the room, only after I put the light on, did I wake up and stop screaming.

I had had a nightmare about spiders and bugs in some form or other, I didn't remember it much past a vague idea along those lines after I woke up. Otherwise my shoulder has really been aching a lot.

I have an old injury that flares up on a regular basis, usually the time of the month, which it is now as well, I have been seeing a chiropractor and that has helped a bit, but it is still far from cured. This completely healed after consistently following a high fruit, low fat raw food lifestyle!

I got up at 8:00 had a bath, and aside from feeling a slight weakness and dizziness when I walk around, I am feeling pretty cool. Not hungry really at all. My tongue is very slightly coated, nothing major, and there is a small sore on my inner lip. Otherwise there is nothing to report, for now.

10:52am Just been reading the water fasting site www.soilandhealth.org about the difference between hunger and appetite.

True hunger has nothing whatsoever to do with the stomach and all these so called hunger pangs are merely expressions of food addiction and irritation of the gastric system which is temporarily alleviated by food.

People who eat a plant based pure diet feel far fewer of these irritations mistaken for hunger than meat eaters and those who use stimulating condiments on their food. So it's no wonder that I am actually finding this so easy.

Because I really am.

I have that vague feeling of emptiness in my stomach which is usually the signal to eat, but that in fact is not hunger at all, and I must say it is very far from compelling, I am actually not even thinking about food at all.

This is obviously due to my having eaten raw food only for the two weeks preceding my fast, this is actually going remarkably well.

As mentioned before, aside from a slight feeling of weakness if I stand up too quickly, I am actually feeling pretty damn energetic and have been spending my morning so far researching the net and doing pretty much what I always do on a well fed morning.

7:00pm I am still feeling great.

It is only when I think of doing this for a long time that I start to get twinges, it's kinda boring not eating you know. But I must just take this one day at a time. I've got band rehearsal later, I was going to send Jaye by himself to tell the others that I'm not feeling well, but I think I'll go, I feel fine, pretty cool actually.

7:48 shoo, just had a bath, quite a hot one, and maybe that was a bad idea, because hell I nearly passed out afterwards!

I am still soooo dizzy and light headed. Not going to band practice, it requires more energy than I am able to give it.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Three

Weight: 59.8kg

11:40am Well I woke up at 8 or so, read in bed for a bit and then made some calls, heard my results were out at university so dragged myself off to check it out. Very pleased with my results.

It's amazing I was walking so slowly everywhere and panting as if I was running a marathon, my energy is radically reduced now.

2:00pm I am feeling fine, just finished reading The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and it is absolutely mind blowing.

It makes me want to scream from the rooftops. If I had the money I would buy multiple copies and give them to everyone I love.

5:30pm I had a short sleep now, I am feeling very weak now and quite hungry, quite like I'd like to stop this. I've had a vague clenching of the jaw which isn't all that great, not sure why that would be, maybe detox from old drugs. It has been clenching all day.

Now my tongue is starting to look a bit more coated and I think my breath may be getting bad and that's all so far. Wish my body would start producing these ketones so that I would totally lose interest in food, cos right now the oranges on the table are looking pretty damn delicious.

My jaw kinda hurts from all the clenching and I have a mild headache. Going to go lie down again now.

11:50pm Now I am having a tough time, the whole evening I have been feeling pretty bad. My jaw aches, I have a mild headache and the weakness and dizziness is getting really annoying. I have also been thinking about food with a great deal of longing.

Worst of all though I can't sleep, I can't really seem to enjoy doing anything, I feel discouraged and depressed and like giving it all up.

My stomach is seriously unhappy and every time I lie down it feels as if I am about to vomit so I sit up in a hurry again, hence the fact that I can't sleep. It is like I have bad acid indigestion and the acids are traveling up my throat and as they reach my mouth it floods with saliva and I almost vomit.

It is really extremely unpleasant, I sure do hope this is gone soon. I am gonna sit on the couch in a very upright position and read for a while and hopefully I'll be able to sleep soon, because I am tired.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Four

Weight: 59kg

7:50am Well I got up at 7:00 and had a bath, I had the most terrible night. I was up and down the entire night, at 5:00 in the morning I was still having that awful acidic thing traveling up my throat and making me almost vomit.

Thank God it seems to be over now, although I can definitely still feel my stomach, it is grumbling and rumbling most awfully. So obviously there were things that needed to be fixed in there.

Also food has not yet become completely unappealing, Jaye is having a banana and papaya smoothie right now and I would love to have some.

So those ketones are not too interested in my story at this stage.

9:55am I did some gentle stretching then took my mini trampoline outside and gently bounced while listening to my ipod and getting some rays for 30 minutes. Very important to get the natural sunlight while fasting. I am feeling pretty tired now though so I am going to lie down and read.

1:50pm I feel pretty bummed out, I almost black out every time I stand up and I am longing to eat some fruit. Otherwise no bad symptoms have returned, my tongue seems more coated than before.

I am hoping that the length of this fast will not be as long as ten or more days, I had planned for up to a fourteen day fast, but I'm only on day four and motivation is really flagging. But maybe this will get easier.

8:15pm I feel like hell… I had another brief attack of the burning acid, and that was followed by a lot of burping (this is all quite gross so maybe skim over this if you are a sensitive reader) and spitting because it seemed my mouth was producing loads of saliva and I knew if I kept swallowing I would definitely need to vomit, so I just kept on spitting it out.

Then I got a lovely and very unexpected attack of diarrhea (I told you this was gross!). Anyway that's all over for now, but I am dreading another night like last night, oh please God don't let it happen!!!. My weight's really going down fast though on the plus side and my eyes are starting to look very bright and sparkly.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Five

Weight: 58kg

9:00 Well as you can see the weight is sure coming off really quickly. I am surprised at that, 3kg in just over four days is pretty quick water fasting weight loss and way more than I expected.

I had an okay night, acid and nausea discomfort right up until about 1:00 am but then I slept through until 8:15. So that's good compared to the previous night.

The diarrhea recurred again this morning, but thankfully the rumbling and growling of my stomach has quietened down.

12:30pm I just ran around this morning and went to shops etc, so I was quite exhausted when I got home. I am quite pleased though, this fasting seems to help bring you to rapid decisions. I made some decisions I've been putting off for a while.

I am still having nausea but it comes and goes. Water is becoming quite distasteful to me but I know that it is essential to keep drinking it. But it seems to add to the nausea.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Six

Weight: 56.5kg

9:00am Wow I am so impressed with the water fasting weight loss. It seemed to start off slow but now its going like a Boeing.

I slept quite well, went to bed at 12 and woke up at 8, but I haven't been able to sleep during the day at all.

I am now up to bathing 3 times a day since the bath has now become my favorite place in the world. When I'm in there I don't feel hungry, I somehow don't seem to get nauseous in there and since I am getting rid of toxins through the skin and not able to wear deodorant I also feel it to be wholly necessary.

However washing myself after a long soak is pure hard labor and I puff and pant my way through it!. I have also been brushing my teeth at least 6 times a day, sometimes more, as my own breath disgusts me and makes me nauseous.

The nausea continues as does the diarrhea although this is only about once a day. I am thankful that apart from a mild one on day 3 I have not had any headaches, I think I may be able to deal with nausea better than I could deal with headaches.

I was hoping to finish this after 7 days, that has been my sneaky internal goal, but I'm thinking I'll try and push past it.

Another positive thing to have come out of this is that I have had a lot more mental clarity, for example making a decision I have been deliberating on for months, and suddenly in this week I knew exactly what to do.

Also last night I sat at my computer till 11:30 printing out sample chapters of my manuscript to send to publishers, we are off to the post office now to send them off. So it seems fasting stops dawdling.

1:00pm We just got back from the beach, it was awesome! Went to Glen Beach in Camps Bay for two hours, I just lay in the sun and went for cold showers when it got too hot, I learned after one quickly aborted attempt that going into the water without a wetsuit is simple craziness. It felt like my bones were about to spontaneously shatter the water is so cold!

It felt wonderful to have the sun on my skin and I got an awesome tan.

Walking down to the beach and walking back up to the car again was very challenging to say the least, quite serious hills, I walked super slowly but still looked like a drunkard lurching about, by the time we got to the car you'd swear I'd just done a 5km time trial.

Anyway just had bath 2 of the day, and covered myself in coconut oil. I am not using any cosmetics except for soap of course and then coconut oil since that is a food and not a cosmetic I reckon that is only good for you.

A strange thing happening as well is that my period should be long over by now, and it is for the most part, except for regular spotting. I reckon it has to be due to my womb cleaning house as well. It's annoying but probably a good thing. Going to lie down and read now the activities of the morning have taken it out of me.

5:30pm The damn burning acid thing is happening again!, I can't bear it!

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Seven

Weight: 56kg

7:00am I had a bad night, nausea and just generally feeling horrid. Water disgusting me, but feeling a bit dehydrated at the same time.

My chest was a bit burnt from my time in the sun so I probably needed to drink a bit extra water but I really just couldn't bear it. I got up at 6 after some pretty bad dreams, had a bath and now here I am.

12:00pm I just slept for a couple of hours, it was great. Feeling better now

2:15pm Oh No Oh No, this is shaping up to be one of my worst days. I am staggering around, forcing the odd sip of vile water down my throat, my stomach is rumbling and grumbling and most terribly uncomfortable and worst of all the acid just keeps on coming, the nausea is really bordering on unbearable. I am going to phone my health consultant tomorrow and hear her thoughts. This really sucks. In retrospect I know I was completely dehydrated here (added to greatly by too much time in the sun). I needed to drink a LOT of water in spite of the nausea.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Eight

Weight: 56kg

8:45am Well no water fasting weight loss today. I am counting down the minutes to 9:00am when I can phone my health consultant and moan about how awful I feel.

I managed to sleep okay, but before getting to sleep I was chronically nauseous and the heartburn acid thing was continuous, and now this morning I am only slightly nauseous, the acid has gone away, but I am now hectically weak and stumbling around.

9:16am Just spoke to health consultant and she was extremely helpful. She said she is super impressed with me, and nobody is going to think badly of me if I break the fast, but if I just rest today and see how I feel tomorrow maybe I will feel able to carry on.

She advised I stop with the room temperature water and instead start drinking hot water as if I'm drinking a cup of tea, she reckons this helps to clear out the liver and may also help with the nausea.

She said the nausea is due to my liver detoxifying. I told her its no great surprise as I have had a wayward youth with loads of alcohol and she said yes our livers are wonderful little filters but the poor little thing is having a hard time clearing out now, hence my struggle.

Also she said I must get Jaye to give me a very gentle massage, stroking towards the heart as this helps the lymph system to detoxify faster, and the lymphs are just below the skin so don't need to be rubbed hard at all. She says this will also help greatly.

She also encouraged me by saying that six months from now I'll happily be embarking on 3 day fasts and 7 day fasts without batting an eyelid. She said she can easily breeze through a 7 day fast even if she hasn't prepared for it properly, because she has far less toxins in her system now and has been living a healthy lifestyle for 8 years.

Anyway I feel much encouraged.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Nine

Weight: Somewhere between 55 and 56 constant fluctuation

5:45pm Well I haven't been writing much as you can see, yesterday I felt absolutely awful and that was why, and today I had to do some work so I was busy, busy.

I feel better today, but not a hell of a lot better! Since tomorrow is day 10 I may well call it off after that. I've probably said that a thousand times before but heck it makes me feel better.

Water Fasting 2006 - Day Ten

THE END THE END THE END THE END THE END THE END THE END THE END

That's all from me folks, I am done here. Jaye is busy making some orange juice which I am going to dilute half and half with water and drink throughout the day today. I am probably breaking this fast before the detoxing is complete, but it's too bad!

I have had enough, enough, enough.

Total water fasting weight loss: 6 kilos (13.2 pounds)

So yay, it's all done. Not sure if I'll be trying this again soon, maybe shorter ones in future, I think probably 5 or so days of water fasting is manageable now and again.

A friend visited me last night and she said my skin is looking fab, no dark circles under the eyes, very clear and even toned, and my eyes are sparkling.

So aside from the water fasting weight loss those are the only other measurable benefits I have from water fasting at this stage. So I guess I'll sign off now, till next time.

Water Fasting Diaries

The photo above was taken a couple of weeks after the 2006 water fast.

So those are the water fasting diaries.

I have a lot more knowledge and experience now than I did then, but choose not to attempt a mid length water fast as I would rather go to a fasting retreat and do it properly at some point, if I was going to do it at all.

However I do undertake short fasts if ever I feel a little 'under the weather' and have easily kicked some would be illnesses in the butt with water fasting this way.

I hope you found these old water fasting diary entries helpful!
